Objective
Nowadays, growing system of pistachios concentrated on seeding in a short distance. Therefore, the pistachio yield were increased by increased number of trees per unit while decreasing product cost per unit. The objective of this study was to evaluate growth, quality, yield, and rantability of Uzun, Siirt, Ohadi pistachio varieties in intensive conditions
Materials and Methods
This study was carried out in Pistachio Research Institute in which composition of soil in the research filed was Clayed-loamy and alkaline. The average lime ratio of the soil was found to be 20% and pH 7.65.
Seedling ofPistacia vera L. were seeded in a distance of 1x7 m and budded with Uzun, Siirt and Ohadi varieties in treatments. 4 renewable parcels were planted randomly by treatment design. The number of trees were determined as 15 for treatments.
Results
The results of analysis of growth, quality, yield, and rantability of varieties in intensive conditions showed that the greatest development in the root circumference of above of the budding place and the length of the tree were observed in Uzun variety whereas Siirt and Ohadi became productive before 3 years than Uzun. The greatest development of yearly average seedling length was found to be in Ohadi and Siirt varieties. The greatest yield per dekar was obtained from in the offer of Siirt, Ohadi, and Uzun varieties. Ohadi and Siirt also had the highest productivity (g/cm2) and the fruit size (100 g/unit) whereas only Ohadi had the greatest inside fruit yield % and cracked ratio which were found to be less in Siirt and Ohadi varieties. Protein and fat content of varieties were not found to be statistically significant. The highest and lowest weights of 100 dried red shell, hard shell and inside pistachios were obtained from Ohadi and Uzun varieties, respectively. Siirt variety was placed between these two varieties. The results of measurements of lengthiness, wideness, thickness of 100 dried red shell, hard shell, and inside fruits of Uzun, Siirt, and Ohadi varieties showed that The most important varieties had the longest length were found to be as Siirt and Uzun. Ohadi and Siirt hadlarger wideness and thickness than Uzun. The results of rantability of varieties between 1976 and 1994 showed that net income from Siirt variety was found to be greatest and followed by the Ohadi and Uzun.Uzun variety was more available to periodicite than Siirt and Ohadi varieties
