The goble shape ranging of 10 -20 cm highness of the roots was used for viniculture in SoutheastAnatolia vineyards and also in lots of regions in our country. It was not suitable for mechanisation. This goal of this study was to determine the most suitable growth techniques for Honusu and Dokulgen which were grown by classical techniques decreasing work without loss of yield and quality.
Materials and Methods
The regional goble, scattered, goble with wire, guyot, royat, lenz, moser and sylvoz shapes in Honusu and Dolulgen varieties budded on 110 R rootstocks seeded by 2x3 m seeding distance were maintained. The productivity using vine, yield per unit area, the weight of 100 fruits, yield of sticks, the amount of total solid materials, and total acidity were determined for the treatments.
Results
The goble and scattered shapes in Honusu variety had the highest, 7.16 kg/vine, and lowest, 5.15 kg/vine, productivies, respectively, whereas maintaining of traditional vine shape in Honusu variety produced 4.06 kg product per vine. The yield per decar for globe with wire and guyot shapes were found to the highest and lowest yields which were 1396 kg/da and 1189 kg/da, respectively. The maintaining traditional goble shape resulted in the lowestyield of 650 kg/da (Table 1).
The weights of 100 fruits were found to be 489 g for traditional goble, 393 g for goble with wire, and 383 g for guyot. The other properties of quality were not found to be significantly different among the treatments.
The productivity of Dokulgen varieties per vine when maintaining traditional goble shape, goble with wire and lenz moser shapes resulted in highest amount of production, and royat gave the lowest of production were found to be 3.83 kg, 6.72 and 5.71 kg and 4.62 kg/vine. The yield of Dokulgen varieties per 1000 m2 when maintaining traditional goble shape gave the lowest of yield, goble with wire and lenz moser shapes resulted in highest yields were found to be 613, 1116 and 948 kg/1000 m2. Maintaining different shapes on varieties did not show significant effect on quality.
The maintenance of goble with wire and guyot shapes for Honusu had low root highness and goble with wire, lenz moser and guyot for Dokulgen variety were suggested to the farmers for plantation of vineyards with wire system in the region.
