Aim
This research was conducted to determine adaptation of walnut varieties, Yalova 1, Yalova 3, Yalova 4 and Berecik that are selected by Ataturk Central Horticulture Research Institute, to Gaziantep ecology.
Materials and Methods
The research was done by using 2 years old plants of Yalova 1, Yalova 3, Yalova 4 and Berecik that were grafted on Balaban (Juglans regia L.) rootstocks. Twenty-six observations of phenological, phomological and technological were done during fruit setting.
Results
Yalova 1 and Yalova 3 resulted better development in the case of tree development. Yalova 1 was the best variety for yield with 7.38 kg/tree, and this was fallowed by Yalova 3, Bilecik and Yalova 4 with 6.15, 3.77 and 0.70, respectively. In the case of fruit quality, Yalova 3 was selected as the best variety and Yalova 4 and Bilecik was determined as not suitable for the region
