Objective
The overall goal of this study was to determine the best types ofPistachio rootstocks which could grow well and develop with some of the most suitable varieties of standard pistachio in the region climate and the soil conditions.
Materials and Methods
Three types of rootstocks, Buttum (Pistaca khinjuk), Atlantik (P. atlantica), and pistachio seedling (P. vera L.) were used by budding with Ohadi, Kırmızı, Uzun, Halebi and Siirt varieties.
In this study, Pistachio cultivars, Atlantik , and Buttum seeds were seeded into seeding trays and then they were seeded to the research fields.
Results
Growing of seedling in the seeding plates, development of seedlings in the research plates until budding time and their improvements for 2 years after budding were published as a result rapport. In 1974-1982, vegetative growth of rootstocks were not found tobe significantly different however, growth of P. vera seedlings were found to be faster than P. khinjuk and P. atlantica which reached the same growth level later.
