Abstract
This experiment was carried out between 1997 - 2008 years to determine the best pistachio rootstock and variety combination for irrigated conditions in Şanlıurfa - Turkey.
Four different Pistacia species (Pistacia khinjuk Stocks, Pistacia atlantica Desf.Pistacia vera L. and Pistacia terebinthus L.) were used as rootstocks and five standard pistachio cultivars (Siirt, Ohadi, Kellekoçi, Kerman and Selection 14) were budded on rootstocks. Experimental orchard was established by 4x6 m in spacing in 1997.
Tree growth, bearing, yield and some quality characteristics of rootstock and cultivars combinations were determined to selection of the best combination.
The best suitable rootstock and cultivar combination for irrigated areas was determined asP. khinjuk X Siirt cultivar and P. atlantica X Siirt cultivar.
